The 4 semester, whole time programme is designed to create a new generation of Financial Advisors who can usher a change in financial management from fund raising to financial decision-making and problem solving. Today, financial managers occupy key positions in management. They play dynamic role in solving complex problems and shaping fortunes of big business houses. Expansion in the activities of financial markets, introduction of new financial institutions and instruments, driven by liberalization and globalization has enhanced the importance of modern finance at international levels. Financial Management has now emerged as a distinct discipline within the sphere of management studies. On account of this change the descriptive treatment of the subject of financial management is being replaced by growing analytical content and sound theoretical underpinnings. This is the approach adopted in this Masters programme.
Objectives of the programme: Equipping students with strong conceptual foundation in the subject and tools with which they can analyze and interpret the dynamics of the financial world.
Equipping students with interpersonal and human communication skills, so that they are able to present lucidly the solutions offered by their organizations to meet the financial needs.
Inculcating in students high ethical and moral values, imperative for the survival and growth of the profession of finance itself. The Department is committed to contributing to the advancement of one of the most critical sectors, finance, in India and abroad, by offering it top-quality professionals.
